Goldenboy - Underneath the Radio (2006)

Every so often, an album comes along that is so well thought-out, so epic, so cohesive and thorough that you can sit back and listen to every song as if Jesus himself were whispering sweet nothings into one ear and Buddah whispered into the other.

While you’re waiting for that album, here’s a cool song to listen to.

It really is a shame that the entire album Underneath the Radio by Goldenboy is nowhere close to being as amazingly awesome as its very first track, Ice Breaker Blues. It’s almost as if someone came in and showed them how to be awesome by making one awesome track. Then, when they were finished, they sat up and asked, “Ok, dudes. You see what I did there? Any questions?” and the rest of the band sat there silently looking at each other with dumb looks on their faces.

Then the dude with the awesome song left them to record the rest of the album, but they clearly weren’t paying attention when the awesome dude was being awesome and the blew the rest of the studio time being lame.
